Residential carpet cleaning in Hong Kong

Bedrooms, living rooms and stairs all collect dust, spills and pet hair. We clean your carpet at home and plan the drying around your space.

In a Hong Kong flat, a carpet often has to work hard. It may be the only soft surface in a compact room, where it catches dust, food, pet hair and whatever's blown in through the window. Vacuuming helps, but it doesn't reach everything.

Common problems we're asked about

  • Dull, flattened areas where people walk most, like the route between the sofa and the door
  • Dust that keeps returning, particularly if someone at home has a sensitive nose
  • Spills and marks from food, drinks and children's art projects
  • Pet accidents and the smell they leave behind
  • A musty smell after a damp spring
  • Carpet you're handing back at the end of a tenancy

How we clean carpet at home

We start by looking at what the carpet is made of and what's on it. Then comes dry vacuuming and dust removal, followed by treatment of any spots, hot water extraction and a final rinse. For a carpet that's gone years without a clean, we may suggest deep cleaning.

If your carpet is wool, or if you have a loose rug rather than fitted carpet, see our rug cleaning page.

Carpets we clean

Fitted nylon and polypropylene carpet, wool and wool-blend carpet, carpeted stairs, and rugs of most kinds. We'll ask for a photo first if the material is unusual, delicate or antique.

Working in a Hong Kong home

Small spaces. Compact rooms mean we need to plan where furniture goes while we work. Tell us what's there, and we'll figure it out together.

Buildings. Some buildings ask for contractor notification or a lift booking. It's worth checking with your management office before the day.

Drying. A flat with limited ventilation needs more thought. Air-conditioning or a dehumidifier usually helps most on humid days, and we'll give you advice for your space. Our article on carpets and humidity has more.

Family routines. Choosing a day when the room can be left to dry makes everything easier. A bedroom carpet is often best cleaned early in the day, so it can dry before bedtime.

What you can expect

What affects the price

Room size, carpet material, soiling, any stains, furniture, and building access. Our carpet cleaning cost guide explains what to expect.

How often to clean

Many homes manage with a professional clean every 12 to 18 months, and more often with pets, children or allergies. We go through this in how often should you clean your carpet.

Frequently asked questions

Can you clean around furniture?

Yes. We can work around heavy pieces, but a carpet under a bed or sofa may look different if it is left uncleaned. Tell us what is in the room and we will suggest what makes sense.

Is it safe to have the carpet cleaned with children or pets at home?

Tell us who is at home so we can choose suitable products, and keep children and pets off the carpet until it has dried.

Will cleaning help with my allergies?

Removing dust from a carpet can be helpful, but cleaning alone is not a medical treatment. Regular vacuuming, humidity control and medical advice all play a part.

Do you clean carpeted stairs?

Yes, please mention them when you enquire. Stairs take longer than the same area on an open floor, because each step is done individually.
