This policy explains how Ahmad Carpets Shop ("we") handles personal data, in line with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect what you give us: your name, phone number, email address if provided, district, details of the job, and any photos you upload.
To protect the website from abuse, we keep a scrambled version of your internet address that can't easily be traced back to you. The site also uses a session cookie, which is needed for forms to work securely.
If analytics are switched on, Google Analytics collects information about how visitors use the site, using cookies. It doesn't receive the content of your enquiry.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange and carry out work, and keep records of what we've done. We won't use it for direct marketing unless you've agreed to that.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal data. We may share it with companies that help us run this website or send email, where that's necessary for those services, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as required by law. Photos uploaded with an enquiry are stored privately and aren't published. We won't use photos of your carpet or home in our marketing without your permission.
Your rights
Under the Ordinance, you can ask for access to the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Please use the details on our contact page. We may charge a reasonable fee for a data access request, as the Ordinance allows.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No website can be completely secure, so please don't send us sensitive information such as identity card or payment details through the form.
Changes
We may update this policy. The current version will always be on this page.
