Why Ahmad Carpets Shop

We start from the carpet, not a price list

We are a carpet shop as well as a cleaner, so we look at what a carpet is made of before deciding what to do with it. Here is what that means for you.

  1. The fibre decides the method

Wool, silk, nylon and polypropylene react differently to heat, water and detergent. We check first, so your rug isn't cleaned like an office floor.

  2. Honest about stains

Some old stains and dye damage won't fully come out. We say so before we start, not after.

  3. Drying planned for Hong Kong

In our humidity, drying is half the job. We plan airflow and timing around your space and the weather.

  4. A shop you can find

We have a real address at Tsim Sha Tsui, so you know who you're dealing with.

How we work

Four stages to a properly clean carpet

Most soil in a carpet is dry grit, so washing comes third, not first. See the full process.

  1. Dry vacuuming

Removes loose grit before it can turn to mud once water is added.

  2. Dust removal

Lifts the fine, ground-in dust that a home vacuum leaves behind.

  3. Hot water extraction

Rinses the pile with hot water and pulls the dirty water straight back out.

  4. Carpet rinse

Clears detergent residue, which would otherwise attract dirt again.

Why it matters here

What a professional clean does in this climate

  • Reduces what feeds mould and mites. Warm, damp air and trapped dust make carpets a favourable place for both. Removing the dust matters as much as the humidity.
  • Protects the fibres. Grit works like sandpaper underfoot. Removing it helps a carpet wear more slowly.
  • Deals with odour at the source. Spills and pet accidents can reach the backing, where surface sprays don't help.
  • Dries safely. Wet cleaning done badly creates the damp it should remove, so moisture control is part of our job.

Common questions

How much does carpet cleaning cost in Hong Kong?

It depends on the size, the material, the condition and the access to your building, so we quote from photos and measurements. Our cost guide explains what moves the price and why published rates vary so widely.

How long does a carpet take to dry?

It depends on the fibre, the thickness, the weather and the ventilation in the room. Wool and thick pile take longest, especially in spring. We will tell you what to expect for your carpet and how to help it along.

Can you remove every stain?

No honest cleaner can promise that. Many stains come out well, but old stains, bleach marks and dye damage may only improve or may not change at all. A photo lets us give you a realistic view before you book.

Do you clean offices outside working hours?

Tell us your hours and your building's rules when you enquire, and we will discuss timing. Many offices prefer cleaning to happen when staff are out, so the carpet has time to dry.
